About Grape Seed Powder
Grapevines (Vitis vinifera) are perennial plants that belong to the family Vitaceous. They are characterised by huge climbing vines, leaves that are lobed with toothed edges and tiny clustered flowers. They also have tendrils that are used to climb tree trunks, rocks, and walls. Grape fruits vary in terms of colour from red, yellow, and purple, green to black. They may grow past heights of 16m if they aren’t tended to. When they are cultivated on a large scale, they form shrubs. Raw grapes, which are all edible, have a sweet and juicy taste. Most of the grapes produced are used to manufacture wine while some are consumed as table fruits. Other portions of grape harvests are dried to make raisins. Grape seeds can be pressed to extract grape seed oil or dried and pulverised to produce grape seed powder.
Grapevines do well in temperate climates where there are extended periods of hot climate during summer, and cool conditions during winter. Extreme weather conditions such as the ones in Antarctica do not support the cultivation of grapevines. Grapevines require the full glare of sunlight and open fields where air can circulate easily to prevent pests and diseases. If the sunlight is not sufficient the quality of the fruits will be compromised. They also require fertile soils that drain properly because grapevines possess a very long root system. However, they can adapt to a variety of soil types e.g. clayey loam, sand, and silt. Grapevines grown for commercial purposes are cultivated with grafts or cuttings. They are planted during spring when there is little risk of frost. Appropriately spaced holes are dug for individual plants. The holes are approximately 30 cm in terms of depth and 30 cm in terms of width. The new vines are planted carefully and gently watered. The young vines are trained by pruning in order for them to achieve the desired growth. By pruning them at a young age and tying them for support, they are able to grow extensive roots that could carry heavy fruit loads. Grapes are ready for harvest when they are their sweetest.
Vitis vinifera or wine grapes cultivation originated in the regions of Southwest Asia, the Mediterranean, and parts of Europe. It started almost 6500 years ago and slowly spread to the American continent and other parts of the world. Grapevines were being harvested before civilizations were known. Dynasties in Egypt in the 17th century left us evidence of grapevine cultivation through hieroglyphics that are being uncovered regularly by historians. Wine was also a widely common drink in Greek culture. Grape and grapevine cultivation was introduced in France by the Phoenicians around 600BCE. The Romans also played a huge role in spreading the practice of grapevine cultivation as they planted them in their vineyards in the Rhine valley. Currently, it is being cultivated all across the world with Antarctica being the only exception. Europe tops in terms of production quantities of grape. It is followed by Asia, North America, South America, and Africa in that order. Italy tops the charts when it comes to countries that produce the largest quantities of grape and is closely followed by France.

How To Take
250mg (approx 1/6 teaspoon) once or twice a day as directed by your healthcare practitioner, can be taken with hot or cold water, in warm milk and honey, in juices or directly with honey.
